Republicans for less government? Bullshit!

Yesterday, the House Judiciary Committee voted 19-10 for H.R. 1981, a data-retention bill that will require your ISP to spy on everything you do online and save records of it for 12 months. California Rep Zoe Lofgren, one of the Democrats who opposed the bill, called it a “data bank of every digital act by every American” that would “let us find out where every single American visited Web sites.”  —-http://boingboing.net/2011/07/29/house-of-reps-passes-bill-requiring-your-isp-to-spy-on-every-click-and-keystroke-you-make-online-and-retain-for-12-months.html

Welcome to the Police State.  Of course they wrap it up in an innocent sounding title that makes the bill sound like something no reasonable person would oppose: the “Protecting Children From Internet Pornographers Act of 2011″, but creating a police state that records all your information on the internet is not the the best way to keep porn away from children.

And Republicans “claim” to be for limited government and defending the Constitution?  What a crock of shit.  It’s bills like this that prove my axiom that the only difference between Rs and Ds is which part of your life they want to control and what they want to spend our money on.

Follow the link to EFF to contact Rep asking them to kill this government surveillance and anti 1stA bill.
