Hugh Hewitt & Obama Share The Same View On The Constitution

Appears Hugh Hewitt has as little respect for the Constitution as the Obama does.

On today’s show, Hewitt chastised a caller for daring to raise the the “I” word, going so far to claim that the caller MUST BE A DEM.

But for the rest of the show, Hewitt, numerous guest and callers all railed that Obama’s act were illegal and unconstitutional.

But of course the president acting unilaterally, taking actions that in their own words were “illegal” and “unconstitutional” aren’t grounds for impeachment.

So either illegal and unconstitutional acts, acts which by that definition are a violation of the oath office don’t rise to the level of high crimes and misdemeanors or Hewitt is full of s**t and playing politics and fast and losse with terms like illegal and unconstitutional.

The Darren Wilson Video They Don’t Want the Grand Jury To See

While there is no video of the Darren Wilson shooting Michael Brown unfortunately (mainly because Ferguson was to busy spending money on cool cop toys rather than dash cams and officer cams), there is another video of  what appears to be Darren Wilson threatening to arrest a man for exercising his First Amendment rights then Wilson lying about it on the police report.

So, if as it appears, that Officer Darren Wilson is willing to lie on a simple police report when there is really nothing on the line, what is Officer Wilson willing to lie about to a grand jury when his ass is on the line….

…In fact, Wilson admitted in his report that it was him, which you can read here, claiming that he told Arman he was allowed to record, but only arrested him after Arman stuck the the camera in his face and refused to cooperate with him regarding an investigation about abandoned cars in his front yard.

So the video not only shows he has no regard for citizens’ right to record him in public, it also shows he has no qualm about lying on police reports considering he had to walk about 20 feet to arrest him, stepping around a pile of junk to get to him. Nothing close to having an annoying camera stuck in his face….

Have You Committed Your 3 Felonies Today Yet?

threefeloniesThree Felonies A Day: How the Feds Target the Innocent by Harvey A. Silverglate

Have you committed your three felonies today yet?  And don’t tell you me you didn’t or don’t do that.  You probably did!

Remember when a felony used to be a crime so heinous that it was supposed to be an act that separated you from the decent society? Well the Government doesn’t, if it ever did.

Don’t believe it? Think it can’t be true? Well wake up and smell and the roses!  We, as citizens, are less free than just about any time in out history, regardless of which party is in power.

Learn as Harvey A. Silverglate takes you through explosion of what is considered a “federal crime” in Three Felonies A Day: How the Feds Target the Innocent.

The average professional in this country wakes up in the morning, goes to work, comes home, eats dinner, and then goes to sleep, unaware that he or she has likely committed several federal crimes that day. Why? The answer lies in the very nature of modern federal criminal laws, which have exploded in number but also become impossibly broad and vague. In Three Felonies a Day, Harvey A. Silverglate reveals how federal criminal laws have become dangerously disconnected from the English common law tradition and how prosecutors can pin arguable federal crimes on any one of us, for even the most seemingly innocuous behavior. The volume of federal crimes in recent decades has increased well beyond the statute books and into the morass of the Code of Federal Regulations, handing federal prosecutors an additional trove of vague and exceedingly complex and technical prohibitions to stick on their hapless targets. The dangers spelled out in Three Felonies a Day do not apply solely to “white collar criminals,” state and local politicians, and professionals. No social class or profession is safe from this troubling form of social control by the executive branch, and nothing less than the integrity of our constitutional democracy hangs in the balance. – via Amazon.

Eugene Volokh misses a point on “Black Mass” free speech

2593789361_fc8b4c8a6e_zEugene Volokh of the Volokh Conspiracy at The Washington Post has this article up regarding the “Black Mass” in Oklahoma City next month.

While he focuses on the quote, “Not all speech is protected if there is hate speech and it is intended to ridicule another religion” from Archbishop Paul Coakley of the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City and gets the law right regarding that quote.

He missed the real money quote:

“I’m disappointed by their response,” Archbishop Paul Coakley of the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City told FoxNews.com Friday. “If someone had come to them to rent the Civic Center to stage a burning of the Koran or to hold an event that was blatantly and clearly anti-Semitic, I think they might find a way to prevent it.

While the city would be no more right in doing that than they would be preventing the “Black Mass”, you can damn well be sure they would sure as f**k try.
